Something different...

Although I like photographing anything from weddings to landscapes, I would say my niche is photographing people. There's nothing more fun than engaging with a dynamic and animated subject. With people, you always get something different. The emotions, the moment, the memories get captured in just that split second, but last a lifetime.

This past weekend I had a photo session that involved something different. Albeit a little rare, occasionally I'll shoot products. Everybody has something to sell and the better it looks, the more likely it is to sell. Whether it be on Ebay, Craigslist, a real estate site, or your commercial website, having great photos of your products will help sell them! We're a visual society...   we must see what we're buying!

So I spent a few hours over the weekend shooting and processing photos of the "Magic Masseuse"... An electronic device used to relieve tension by sending electric current through your muscles. I don't know the science behind it so that's all I'll say about it, but it seems to be a good product (I got to sample it :) for which pictures were needed for a new website and some advertisements.

When photographing people you are usually on a time limit, but with products, I have all the time and patience I need to make minor tweaks to the lighting and to even throw in some creativity. Although I don't photograph products everyday, I'm always happy to take a break from the norm with something different!
